Here's how to start when you first join. In order to start, there are a few things you need to do. First, you need to join the server with the IP:

play.livesnetwork.net or view https://www.livesnetwork.net/help/articles/1/how-can-i-join-livesmc/  

Then, RTP. This means random teleport. To do this, either type “/rtp”, or walk up to the Random Teleport NPC at spawn, where you should teleport when you first join. This NPC is usually straight ahead with the King skin. Right clicking or left clicking this NPC or typing /rtp should bring up a menu:

As shown, hover and click on “Overworld”. After a few seconds of not moving, you should be teleported randomly in the wild. Now scavenge for tools, fight against mobs, and create a base!
